Explore geographically spectacular and culturally fascinating combined Tsum valley and Manaslu circuit trekking for magnificent mountain vistas, dramatic landscapes, terraced hillsides, mysterious canyons, Tibetan culture and a high pass crossing. Visiting the remote upstream of the Budhi Gandaki, reaching Mu Gompa (3700m.) for splendid surrounding range of Ganesh Himal, Singri Himal and Boudha Himal, crossing over Larkya La, the highest point of the trek and going down to the Marsyangdi, makes a semi-circular trip around the three peaks of Manaslu.

Tsum valley and Manaslu Circuit, the complete circumnavigation of the majestic Mt. Manaslu  (8,163m.) the world’s eight highest mountain, is certainly one of  the nature’s call destinations as well as Nepal’s last Himalayan hidden treasures awaiting to explore the least explored valley. Whereas a less exposed remote and wild hidden Tsum valley was almost nothing known before 2008, unlike the rich cultural heritage and secretive of hilltop monasteries, traditional villages, colorful people, mysterious yaks and hurdles of maniwalls, chortens, lively festivals, historic treasures and picturesque villages being considered to be as Shangri-La of the Himalayas.

Trek starts from Soti Khola, climbs the Budhi Gandaki valley through forest of pine and rhododendron, heads up over a ridge leads to Lokpa, the entrance to wild route to Tsum valley. From Chhokangparo, we will be in upper valley of inner Himalaya. Refreshing forests of bamboo and exotic rhododendron, higher trials are lead to silent alpine glades and rugged, high mountain desert. Visiting Piren Phu cave- the most sacred caves, higher up beyond Nile and Chhule is the Tibetan region, where the landscape is dry, arid and reminiscent of the Tibetan plateau, with barren hillsides and soaring mountainsides. Hiking through yak pastures into Trans Himalayan Terrain, the historical Dephyudonma monastery is observed on the way to Mu Gompa. We will have time for sight trip around Rachen Gompa before rejoining the main Manaslu route at Deng. Upon arriving Lho village is the Nupri region, inhabitant of Tibetan immigrants, flattering colorful prayer flags and monasteries along the way. With visit to Birendra Lake during a rest day at Sama Goan, we climb the Larkya-La, one of the most dramatic pass crossings in the Himalayas.

Tsum valley and Manaslu Circuit trek is one of Nepal’s last Himalayan gems to observe for a sparkling array of panoramic peaks, wide range of scenery, cultural variety and peaceful valleys awaiting the adventurous explorer. Trekkers visiting Tsum valley and Manaslu are sure to have exceptionally unforgettable experience once in lifetime.
