This trek can be start from Lukla where the trekking trails enter the highest valley in the world to begin your journey to the base of Mt. Makalu, the fifth highest mountain in the world (8,463m.).The route offers opportunity to explore cloud-forest jungle, high alpine terrain, orchids and rural farm and market villages and cross along the Pass yak pastures towards the endless ice fields of Mt. Makalu, Baruntse and Sherpini col. In the lower of this region are dominated Rai, Sherpa, and Shingsawa (Bhotia) farmers. They are the preserver of unique biological and cultural resources of the area. The forest of the region shelters the endangered red panda and musk deer, Ghoral, Himalayan Tahr and leopard and more than 400 bird species, at least 16 of which are extremely rare. Sherpini col pass trekking is considered as the most difficult and challenging pass trekking of the world. It is one of the most adventures trek in the Himalaya only for experienced hikers or climbers.

Mera Peak, Barutse and Makalu Base camp offers a panoramic view of Baruntse Base Camp, Chamlang, Kangchenjunga, Makalu, and Baruntse in the east and the peaks of Cho-Oyu, Ama Dablam and Kangtega to the west. Everest can be viewed to the north over the massive unclimbed south face of Lhotse and the Nuptse/Lhotse ridge. Under favorable conditions, it is possible to climb the peak and descend back on the same day.

Peak Climbing Cost Includes:

  • Land transportation by Car, Van, Hiace or, tourist Bus (Airport/Hotel/Airport, trekking pick up and drop).
  • 4 Night’s hotel accommodation in Kathmandu at Bed & Breakfast basis.
  • All 3 major meals Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner (provide varieties continental food by Lodge menu), accommodation in teahouse lodge and tented camp during the trek en-route. (twin sharing North Face tent or, normal trekking tent, dining tent, toilet tent, Kitchen tent, staff tent and Kitchen utensil etc.).
  • 1 professional equipped English speaking trekking + Climbing guide, Cook, necessary Sherpa and Porter.
  • Life insurance for all support crews and their daily wages.
  • Equipment charges for the climbing guide.
  • Trekking Equipment for all crew.
  • Per member 15 Kg. luggages allow while in the trekking and Peak climbing.
  • Snow bars and enough rope for the climbing as well as tented camp while on climbing to Mera Peak.

    First Ascent: Mera Central by Col J.O.M. Roberts and Sen Tenzing on May 20, 1953, and Mera North on 1975 by French climbers Marcel Jolly, G. Baus and L. Honills via standard climbing route though some sources state that it was climbed on 29 October 1973 and the climbers included L. Limarques, Ang Lhakpa and two other Sherpas.
