Trip Fact
Mount Jannu Himal now officially known as Kumbhakarna Himal lies 11km to the West of the summit of Mt. Kanchenjunga. Though lower, it is a very difficult peak, with a summit pyramid that is steep on all sides. The first ascent and and standard route is a complex and difficult, though not extreme, route up the Southeast Ridge, from the Yamatari Glacier. Neighboring peak Jannu East 7,468 meter, was unclimbed as of 1997. On the climbing side, no experience is necessary; however you must be familiar with alpine environments and must understand the risks that camping and climbing above the snowline pose. It was first ascent by René Desmaison, Paul Keller, Robert Paragot, Gyalzen Mitchung Sherpa (a French team), Lionel Terray, André Bertraud, Jean Bouvier, Pierre Leroux, Yves Pollet-Villard, Jean Ravier and Wangdi Sherpa on April 27 and 28, 1962. Previous trekking experience or long route hiking experience is desirable. Our trip starts from Ilam Bazar, Kabeli Khola and our trail back from same trekking route and end at Suketar then we will take flight back to Kathmandu.

- Above given cost does not include the climbing Sherpa’s food & fuel, tents, climbing gears and summit bonus above advance base camp.
- Hiring a high altitude Sherpa cost includes equipment allowances, daily wages, food and fuel up to base camp, insurance, flight from Kathmandu/Biratnagar/Suketar/Kathmandu and sleeping tents at BC etc.
Summit Bonus: Camp 7000m. = USD 500 and over 7000m. to summit= USD 400 = 900 USD extra payable for per climbing Sherpa on the spot.

Expedition Service includes:
- All land transportation by Car, Toyota Hiace, Local Jeep or, Bus (Airport/Hotel/Airport, expedition pick up and drop).
- 5 Nights Accommodation in Kathmandu at a tourist class Hotel on bed & breakfast plan as per given itinerary.
- Transport as per itinerary for members, staff and Liaison officer.
- Transportation of all food and climbing equipments to base camp and back.
- Peak permit fee.
- Full board basis during the trekking.
- All kitchen equipments; kitchen tent, dining tent, toilet tent, shower tent, chairs & tables at the base camp.
- Cook and Kitchen boys at the base camp.
- Base camp tents for members and staff.
- Equipment allowance, wages, insurance for base camp staff and Liaison officer.
- Air fare: Kathmandu/Biratnagar/Suketar/Kathmandu, Cargo fees and airport tax.
