An magnificent treks to the Gokyo Lakes including an ascent of Gokyo Ri, Nirekha Peak climbing, Chola Pass offering superb views of Mt. Everest

Nirekha (6,159m.) peak is located in the Khumbu region close to the well-known Cho-La Pass crossing between Gokyo and Lobuche. The normal ascent to the Nirekha Peak is a great and depending on the conditions difficult climb. It’s a great route for experienced alpine climbers. The ascent is mostly on ice and snow but demands good fitness and acclimatization as most of the difficult climbing is above 5,800m. only experienced climbers should attempt this route, though it is partially saved with fixed ropes. The summit consists of two summit pyramids.

The Kanchung Peak Base Camp is the preferable starting point from the lake camp it is hardly doable in one day. Both ascents are scenically beautiful. This peak  climbing can be done towards from Gokyo side as well as from Dzongla (Labuche) side.
